Peta Wilson born as Peta Gia Wilson on November 18th, 1970 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia is a beautiful Australian actress and a model. She is best known for her role of Nikita in long running television soap "La Femme Nikita". Her performance as Nikita received several nominations for awards.
Peta Wilson was born to caterer Karlene nee White. Peta Wilson has a brother named Rob Wilson who works as a truck driver with the Australian army. When Peta Wilson was twelve years old her parents got divorced. Peta Wilson and her family lived for sometime in Papua New Guinea, where they did not have a television or radio for them to be entertained. Undismayed Peta Wilson along with her brother entertained their parents by mimicking and lip syncing American actress and singer Liza Minnelli. Peta Wilson studied in an all-girls Catholic school in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Peta Wilson during her childhood was a hyperactive child and her tomboyish nature made her to be sent to deportment classes. During this time Peta Wilson was noticed by a modeling agent and she quickly became one of the famous models in Australia and Europe. At the age of twenty one, Peta Wilson moved to Los Angeles looking for a career in acting in Hollywood. She joined The Actors Circle Theatre in Los Angeles and studied acting along with Arthur Mendoza.
A health freak, Peta Wilson practices meditation, yoga, acupuncture and also takes to alternative medicine to keep her fit.
Peta Wilson began her acting career in 1995 with "The Sadness of Sex" and went on to appear in several movies. It was in 1997 Peta Wilson shot to fame with her recurring role of Nikita in "La Femme Nikita" {96 episodes: 1997-2001}. Peta Wilson contested for the role of Nikita and defeated 200 other wannabe Nikitas finally bagging the coveted role. She received two Gemini nominations and one Saturn Award nominations for her wonderful performance as Nikita in "La Femme Nikita". Peta Wilson also received a Saturn Award nomination for her starring role in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" [2003]. She has also acted in the movie "Superman Returns" [2006] in the role of Bobbie-Faye, a spokesperson for NASA.
Pete Wilson besides acting and modeling has floated a production company called Sweet Lip Productions, and several projects are coming up through her production company.
Pete Wilson had a live-in relationship with Damian Harris in 1997. She gave birth to a son named Marlowe in February 2002. Peta Wilson had appeared in bikini in 'Details' magazine along with other stars, the likes of Melissa Joan Hart, Yasmine Bleeth, Carmen Electra, Jamie Luner, Garcelle Beauvais and Jeri Ryan.
